Kimbilio Trust is a women human rights organization founded to address violence against women and girls as well as to empower women to live their fullest potential. We work with the communities resource persons to create a demand for service delivery by duty bearers where the women agenda is concerned. Kimbilio trust has been working towards providing a figurative safe haven for victims/ survivors of violence against women and girls. Kimbilio Trust runs the 1193, toll free helpline; which provides crisis phone support and information to survivors/ victims of violence and their families.
Kimbilio Trust is part of the Kenya chapter of the UN Africa Unite campaign to end violence against women, as well as the National Women Steering Committee which is a group of more than 30 women organizations set up to advance the women agenda in Kenya. We are further involved in the efforts to advance affirmative action and women participation in political processes, governance and decision making levels.
Our advocacy activities include pushing for gender responsive budgets both at National and County governments. In partnership with other women rights organization we push for passing of gender responsive legislations that advances gender equality and protection of women human rights. Our mission is to provide intervention, information and referral services to survivors of gender based violence and the society as a whole through advocacy and awareness creation. Our vision is a society that is free from Gender Based Violence.
